BIT Mesra M.Pharm. Admission

BIT Mesra is inviting applications for the Admission in Post Graduate courses for the academic session 2011-12

Important Dates :-

  • Last date for receipt of completed forms for all programmes at Mesra:  8th June, 2011
  • Tentative dates* for Counselling / Interview: 21-24 June 2011

(The last date for submission of application form for all Postgraduate programmes 2011 have been extended up to 8 June 2011, owing to delay in GPAT 2011 result and also several requests from the candidates.)

 

1. General Eligibility:

  • Candidates must hold a B. Pharm degree from a PCI and AICTE approved Institute
  • Candidates must have a first class or minimum 60% marks in average (45% for SC/ST) in graduation
  • Candidates must be GPAT qualified for the M. Pharm programme in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy and Pharmacology.
  • Non-GPAT candidates may also apply for the M. Pharm programme in Clinical Research, and Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs, M.S. Clinical Research & Pharmacovigilance, Postgraduate Diploma in Bioanalytical Techniques, Pharmacovigilance.
  • Candidates appearing for final examinations of their Bachelor’s programme / qualifying examination in 2011 can also apply, provided they have obtained 60 % marks or equivalent (45% marks in case of SC/ST candidates) based on latest available grades / marks at the time of applying, and if selected can join the programme provisionally. At the time of the interview / counselling they must bring the following:

a) A certificate in original from the Principal of their Institute stating that by  30 June 2011, they will have appeared for examination in all subjects required for obtaining their qualifying degree.
b) A certificate in original from the Principal certifying that they have obtained  60% marks or equivalent (45% marks in case of SC/ST candidates) based on latest available grades / marks

  • Pharmaceutical Chemistry
  • Pharmacognosy
  • Pharmacology
  • Pharmaceutics
  • Clinical Research
  • Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs

All programmes are full-time and will commence on 25 July 2011


Selection Procedures for the M. Pharm, M.S., PG Diploma programmes

 

  • Provisional selections to the M. Pharm programme in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical chemistry, Pharmacognosy and Pharmacology will be on the basis of scores obtained in GPAT 2011, and previous academic record, and counseling provided that the candidates fulfill the eligibility criteria.
  • Provisional selections to the M. Pharm programme in Clinical Research and Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs will be on the basis of previous academic record, written test and/or personal interviews, provided that the candidates fulfill the eligibility criteria There will be no scholarships for students of these programmes. Syllabus of the test will be same as for GPAT 2011.
  • Provisional selections to the M.S. Clinical Research & Pharmacovigilance and postgraduate Diploma in (a) Bioanalytical Techniques, (b) Pharmacovigilance programmes will be on the basis of previous academic record, written test and/or personal interviews, provided that the candidates fulfill the eligibility There will be no scholarships for students of these programmes. Syllabus of the test will be same as for GPAT 2011.

No scholarships are available for these programmes

  • Clinical Research
  • Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs
  • Pharmacovigilance
  • Bioanalytical Techniques

List of Enclosures to be submitted along with the completed application for

  • Two recent colour photographs – one pasted on form and one attached by clip (write your Name and “PG 2011” on the back of the second photo)
  • Crossed demand draft for Rs. 1,500/- (non-refundable) in favor of Birla Institute of Technology, payable at Ranchi (write your Name, telephone number and “programme applied for” on the back of the DD)
  • Photocopies of following documents and certificates (write your Name, telephone number and programme applied for on the back of each of these papers):

a) Pass certificate of Class 10
b) Marksheet of Class 10
c) Marksheet of Class 12 / Intermediate or equivalent
d) Marksheets of Graduation for graduates
e) Certificates and marksheets of qualifying examination
f) Marksheets upto pre-final year for candidates who would be completing graduation / qualifying examination in 2011. They must also enclose photocopies of the following:

(i) A certificate in original from the Principal of their Institute stating that by  30 June 2011, they will have appeared for examination in all subjects required for obtaining their qualifying degree.

(ii) A certificate from the Principal certifying that they have obtained requisite marks or equivalent based on latest available grades / marks.

g) Candidates with qualifications acquired through correspondence or distance-learning programmes must submit proof that they have acquired such qualifications as working professionals / while in employment.  They must enclose with their application photocopies of

(i) Work experience certificate

(ii) Pass certificate and marksheets of qualifying examination showing that they have
passed the qualifying examination with requisite marks

h) Admit Card of GATE 2011 / GPAT 2011 (if applicable)
i) Score Card of GATE 2011 / GPAT 2011 (if applicable)
j) Caste certificate (if applicable), which should be in proper format and signed by appropriate authority of rank not less than SDO.
k) Candidates belonging to other special categories mentioned in Sec 5 (Physically Handicapped / Ward of BIT employee) must provide photocopy of certificate in proper format from appropriate authority.
l) Photo identification: (Driving license, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, College ID, Employee Identification Card are acceptable)

  1. sir i am GPAT 2011 qualified and applied for BITS but still not received the registration no. for counselling. from which date counselling will start for m.pharm. and i have submitted the form before the GPAT result declayered.
    i m going to fax and post my score card today. is it too late ? will i able to attend counselling.

    plz suggest me what should i do ? reply soon on my mail. thank you sir

    I am unable to join the counselling due to some personal reasons. May I send someone else(friend or my brother) to do the counselling part and book the seat for me.

  3. sir, Is there any specific date before which my gpat scorecard should reach there at BITS Mesra?

  4. sir, i have already sent my application form for admission to m pharm course at bits mesra, before gpat result was declared, so now what is the provision for submiting our gpat scorecard. please give me the possible information.

    • Send your GPAT score to the Dean admission, along with the application reference no.

      If not having the application no. then send GPAT score along with one application to the following address:-
